ABOUT ME 


My name is Gia , and I've been involved in childcare for a long time. I love being around children and helping them learn through play. I love being a part of their daily lives, and helping to teach them, protect them, and help them grow and learn. I believe in the importance of unstructured time, free play, and a TV-free environment.  I have worked in both Daycare and Preschool setting. I have got my Level 2 certificate as a Child Development Worker.


"LITTLE SHINING STARS DAYHOME" is a chemical-free home with pet free environment . I serve healthy, home-made meals and snacks daily, and we only watch a movie once a week - By not watching TV everyday  helps children develop their own minds and creativity, and allows them to grow as leaders in the world. We are outside whenever the weather permits, at least once or twice every day.


My location is ideal, as well. I'm in the Clareview area of Edmonton, just off Victoria Trail and Kirkness Road, and a short drive from Clareview LRT station. I live few houses down from a playground which is good to visit and encourage recreation for children.

 

My dayhome is open Monday to Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. I have my current  Child Care First Aid and CPR from Red Cross. I have obtained my Level Two in Childcare certification and a Clean Criminal Record check and Child Intervention Check.
